Matthew's fundraiser for Cardiomyopathy UK

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 18th August I will be taking part in the 2024 Scottish Half Marathon event in Edinburgh, in order to raise money for Cardiomyopathy UK. This is a charity close to my heart and I will be running in memory of close family friend, Brian Curran.
Cardiomyopathy UK is the sole UK charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by the heart muscle disease, Cardiomyopathy. Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle that causes difficulty for the heart to pump blood to the rest of the body. This in turn can lead to heart failure. The condition affects at least 1 in 500 people in the UK – that’s over 160,000 children and adults. Raising the awareness about cardiomyopathy is invaluable to the charity and it's missions.
Anyone who even slightly knows me will know that this is well outside my comfort zone, and up until the past few months even running a 5k seemed like a monumental task, so any support no matter if it's a donation or a share is greatly appreciated, and will go a long way in helping raise awareness for this disease, funding its research and supporting families of those affected by it.

Thank you for taking the time to read and for your support 😊
Matthew
